I received a text message today saying I have an unclaimed tax refund of £450. It directed me to this website. The site looks very professional and uses official-looking logos, but the URL seems off. It asks for my full credit card details and Social Security number to 'verify my identity.' Has anyone else seen this? I suspect it's a phishing scam designed to steal financial info.

Definitely a scam! I just ran this through the Authentiseal Credibility Check tool and it flagged the domain as being registered only 48 hours ago in a high-risk jurisdiction. Government agencies will never ask for your full credit card number via a text link. Avoid!

Thanks for posting this. I got the same text message an hour ago. The .biz extension is a huge red flag for a government site. I’ve reported the URL to the hosting provider as well.

Great catch, everyone. We have added this URL to our blacklist. Remember: if a site pressures you to provide sensitive data immediately, always stop and check the credibility score first.
